Leigh Anne Schmitt (Prochnow)

Leigh Anne Schmitt Prochnow, 47, of Lusby, MD, formerly of Lima, died March 22, 2007, at her residence, surrounded by her family.

She was born Dec. 13, 1959, to Kenneth Schmitt and Patricia King, who both survive in Lima. She married Dennis Prochnow, who survives.

Leigh Anne was a registered nurse. She had worked at Solomons Nursing Center and St. Mary's Hospital. She had been the nurse manager at the assisted living center at Asbury-Solomons. She was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Prince Frederick, MD. She was working on her master's degree so she could teach nursing. She had also lived in Virginia, Guam and Jacksonville, FL before moving to southern Maryland in September 1997.

Survivors also include three sons, Justin Prochnow, of Baltimore, Nathan Prochnow, of Charleston, WV, and Matthew Prochnow, of Lusby, MD; a sister, Susan Armstrong, of DeLand, FL; a brother Kenny Schmitt, of Lima; a stepbrother, Clint Schmitt.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. Burial was at the St. Marys Cemetery, Ottoville. Contributions were made to the Calvert Hospice, Frederick, MD.
